KUCHING, June 22: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah has issued a challenge to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak strategic director Iswardy Morni to “bring it on” if he wants to contest in the 13th Sarawak Election (PRN13) in 2026.
Abdul Karim, who is also Asajaya assemblyman, expressed his readiness to face Iswardy, noting that he had been waiting for him during the previous Sarawak Election (PRN12) in 2021, but Iswardy did not contest.
“If he wants to contest or bring anyone to contest (in the coming PRN13), and is eager to contest, he is most welcome. In Sarawak, we are always waiting.
“It goes to shows that, not PKR central, but PKR Sarawak’s bad intentions are still there,” he told reporters when met at the Sukma and Para Sukma baton relay event in Kota Samarahan today.
Abdul Karim was responding to reporters asking for his comments regarding Iswardy’s recent statement, saying that PKR Sarawak is prepared to contest in the next State Election if given the green light from PKR central leadership.
He, however, believed that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would make the right move when making a decision regarding the matter. — DayakDaily
