Borneo Sarxindo Concert to showcase 8 bands in celebration of Sarawak’s cultural diversity

KUCHING, Oct 12: Eight bands are set to perform at the Borneo Sarxindo Concert at Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV), scheduled to be held from Dec 1 to 2.

The concert aims to celebrate Sarawak’s rich cultural heritage and diversity while fostering cultural exchange and collaboration with neighboring countries, particularly Indonesia.

It will feature three well-known Indonesian artists: ST12, Nidji, and Dadali, along with local talents like Masterpiece, Senseless, Meruked, Alu Alu Band, and BNB Band.

According to concert organiser High Achievers Networking sales manager Izzat Adnan, the concert will kick off at 7pm, with daytime activities starting at noon.

“Mini performances by War Drum and Dee Jay, cultural activities, food and beverage vendors, merchandise, and craft stalls will enhance the concert atmosphere,” he said during the media session held at the Club Riverside Majestic Hotel today.

Izzat anticipates that the concert will draw approximately 10,000 to 15,000 attendees from Indonesia, Brunei, West Malaysia, and local Sarawakians.

Tickets are available through ticket2u and at the SCV entrance on the day.

The ticket rates for different zones are as follows:

  • Platinum Zone VIP – 1-day pass (RM491) and 2-day pass (RM978), early bird rate – 1-day pass (RM470) and 2-day pass (RM915).
  • Gold Zone VIP – 1-day pass (RM387) and 2-day pass (RM770), early bird rate – 1-day (RM366) and 2-day pass (RM707).
  • Rock Zone – 1-day pass (RM283) and 2-day pass (RM562), early bird – 1-day pass (RM262) and 2-day pass (RM499).
  • GA Standing Zone – 1-day pass (RM158) and 2-day pass (RM312), early bird – 1-day (RM138) and 2-day pass (RM250).

“We offer a special student rate of RM100 for a day pass, but students must provide proof of student identity,” he shared.

Izzat highlighted that the concert is beneficial for businesses in the tourism sector, including hotels, resorts, homestays, food and beverages, and transportation.

“We hope that events like these will stimulate sustainable business development and attract more visitors and tourists to Sarawak. It will position Kuching and Sarawak as a ‘must-visit’ international destination for music enthusiasts,” he said.
