Bomba stands down search for missing angler in Sg Tatai

Bomba personnel havibg the discussion with the other government agencies involved in the SAR operation, together with the victim's family members, the village chief, and local villagers.

SRI AMAN, Dec 23: A Search and Rescue (SAR) operation for missing angler in Sg Tatai in Lachau was put to a stand down after four days without a lead.

State Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) operation center said the decision was made following a discussion with the victim’s family members, together with the police at 5.30 pm today.

“The decision was made after the searching effort for the victims produced no lead, and the operation will be put to a stand down (terminated) until a new clue is found, ” the statement said.


On Dec 20 (Friday), a 56-year-old man was reported missing during a fishing trip along Sg Tatai in Lachau.

The report was made by a younger sibling of the victim, after the victim failed to return home since going out on Thursday.

A SAR operation was carried out by the firefighters from Bomba Sri Aman, together with the police, Civil Defense Force (APM) and the local villagers. —DayakDaily.
