KUCHING, Oct 15: A single-vehicle accident which occurred along Batu 13 Sungai Agas, Jalan Matang in Kuching resulted in one person becoming trapped in the wreckage.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the incident, which involved a Perodua Viva, was reported at 5.13pm today.
Upon receiving the distress call, a team from the Petra Jaya Fire Station (BBP Petra Jaya) was dispatched to the scene.
The rescue team, consisting of 10 personnel, arrived at 5.38pm, having travelled 19 kilometres from their base.
Bomba stated that the vehicle had veered off the road. There were three victims in the car, with two already rescued by bystanders before the arrival of the fire department.
However, one victim remained trapped inside the vehicle.
The Bomba team successfully extricated the trapped individual and handed the victim over to the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) for immediate transportation to the hospital for further treatment.
