KUCHING, 25 July: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) has deployed teams to monitor flood affected areas in the state.
According to Bomba operations centre, firefighters are now on the way to Rh Banyaj, Sg Sebubu, Marudi with water level reported to be rising by six inches this afternoon due to the flood.
In Sk Sg Kelabit, Miri it was reported that the water level at Sungai Bakong/Tinjar was still rising as at 9 am today. The depth of the water level was calculated from 1 to 4 feet from the ground.
Bomba has also received a flood report from Rumah Nyala, Sg Belasoi which affected 18 families as at 11 am today. The flood was due to the nearby river overflowing its banks.
The water level has receded but the bridge near the longhouse was damaged due to the flood. -DayakDaily
