Covid-19: New cluster in Sarawak identified as Kuching construction company cluster

KUCHING, July 25: The Ministry of Health (MoH) has identified a new cluster of Covid-19 in Sarawak called the Kuching construction company cluster.

MoH in a press statement today said this cluster was formed following a close contact of an index case number 8,715 who tested positive on July 11.


The Health Ministry said the close contact which was case number 8,881 was tested positive for Covid-19 today after a repeat swab test.

MoH said the victim is an employee of a construction company in Kuching.

It added that through investigation, 55 close contacts including five housemates of the index case have undergone the Covid-19 swab test.

MoH disclosed that all their test results for Covid-19 were negative.

MoH said the Health Department is identifying the source of infection and performing active case detection for the cluster. —DayakDaily
