Bomba delivers 4,000 kg of food to 14 flood-hit longhouses in Nanga Tau, Bintulu using helicopter

BINTULU, Jan 22: Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) has delivered 231 food packages amounting to 3973.2kg to flood victims in Nanga Tau, Sungai Anap, Tatau here today.

According to a report by Bomba, there were 14 longhouses affected by the recent floods caused by continuous rain.

These longhouses are Rh Dilang (31 doors), Rh Medan (14), Rh Lois (8), Rh Satan (13), Rh Saran (33), Rh Salleh (23), Rh Baja (13), Rh Suang (13), Rh Jan (13), Rh Gelukau (14), Rh Kelisop (33), Rh Wan (21), Rh Rini (10) and Rh Ajai (6).

Led by operation commander PBT Jankey Jikat, the team had to travel by helicopter to reach the affected area.

This was the second day that the humanitarian mission was conducted after the affected longhouses were cut off from the outside world due to severe flooding.

Also affected were staff at SK Nanga Tau, Sungai Anap and Nanga Tau Health Clinic. – DayakDaily
