Bomba called in to help search for missing man in Sg Tinjar

MARUDI, Dec 19: A 31-year-old man is feared drowned after he went missing in Sungai Tinjar here today.

State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre in a statement revealed they received a call at 10.30am from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) requesting for assistance in searching for the victim who is feared drowned after possibly falling off a tugboat.

“The complainant, who is the victim’s father felt something was amiss when a search effort to locate the victim around the boat and Stanpin Logpond area came to no avail, after he was last seen on the boat at 7am.

“Worried for the safety of his son, the father made a police report at the nearby police station, which later requested for special service assistance from Bomba to search for the victim.”

Four firefighters from Bomba Marudi led by PBK II Manshor Wahi with one rescue boat were deployed to the location to conduct a search operation.

The operations centre also noted that their team at the location is experiencing communications difficulty as the area is not well covered by cellular services. — DayakDaily
