KUCHING, Sept 15: The body of an unidentified man believed to be in his 30s or 40s was discovered along the shoreline heading towards Kampung Bakam, Miri yesterday.
Miri District Police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah confirmed that a police report was lodged at Tanjung Lobang Police Station regarding the discovery.
“Preliminary investigation confirmed the individual had died and was pronounced dead by a medical assistant at the scene.
“The deceased did not have any identification documents,” he said in a statement today.
The body has since been taken to the Forensic Department of Miri Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death. The case is classified as sudden death.
Police are appealing for information from members of the public who may have missing family members or who can identify the man through tattoos found on his body.
Those with information are urged to contact Tanjung Lobang Police Station chief Sgt Malina Anak Kilat at 011-12017034, call the station at 085-437290, or approach the nearest police station.
