KUCHING, June 12: The body of a man who was reported missing when he went out on a boat was found floating along Sungai Machan, Kanowit on Friday morning.
The deceased was found five kilometres away from the Tuai Rh Maria Sebie Anak Nyanai longhouse at 9.45 am following a search and rescue operation.
Prior to this, the deceased was reported missing on the morning of June 10 when the villagers noticed an empty boat that belongs to him drifting along the river.
The villagers had started their search for the victim but failed and a police report was later made.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was subsequently alerted and had deployed a team to the scene to search the missing victim.
The body was later handed to the police for further investigation. —DayakDaily
