KUCHING, May 11: A man without any identification documents was found dead at a bus stop in Jalan Utama Pending here yesterday.
Acting Kuching District Police Chief Supt Merbin Lisa said the police received an emergency call from a member of the public at 6.57am, informing the police of the case.
The police went to the scene of the incident to investigate.
“The victim was confirmed dead after being examined by medical officers from Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) who arrived at the location.
“The police carried out a preliminary examination of the body and have not found any element of foul play or any identity documents,” Merbin said in a statement today.
The deceased’s body was then sent to the Forensic Unit of the Sarawak General Hospital and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The police called on relatives or members of the public who have information on the deceased to contact IPD Kuching (082-244444) or SM Siti Mariam Investigating Officer at 016-4461345).
The case has so far been classified as sudden death (SDR) while further investigations are still being carried out. — DayakDaily
