KUCHING, Feb 29: The body of a 71-year old man reported missing in Serian found in a river near Kampung Slabi Plaman.
Serian District Police Headquarters in a statement today confirm the discovery which was made by local villagers yesterday (Feb 28).
According to the statement, the body was confirmed to be the victim who was reported missing after identification by the deceased’s family member.
“The body was later brought to Serian Hospital for post-mortem and the case is classified as sudden death (SDR).
“Further investigation is still ongoing,” the statement read.
On Feb 27, at 11.22pm, police received a report of a missing person from a woman from Kampung Reteh Karas who was told by her mother that her father failed to return home after going out on Feb 26.
Following that, a search and rescue operation was conducted together with Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) and villagers in areas surrounding Kampung Reteh Karas. — DayakDaily
