KUCHING, July 28: The body of a 50-year-old man who was feared to have drowned in Julau was found on the second day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the body was found at 9.08am and was handed over to the police for further action.
In the report, it was stated that a call was received on a missing person at 8.15am on Sunday (July 27), and firefighters from the Bintangor station were deployed.
On Saturday (July 26), at around 11pm, police received a call about the victim, Michael Jantan, who was believed to have drowned while fishing at Sungai Nanga Bekatan Engsering.
A police report was made, and a SAR operation was mounted. — DayakDaily
