KUCHING, Dec 26: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) president Bobby William believed that the racial issue brought up by United Malays National Organisation (Umno) political advisor Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah will divide Malaysians further.

He opined that the proposal brought up by Tengku Razaleigh, famously known as Ku Li was ridiculous and inviting the element of anti-Malaya more.

He suggested the Umno leader to get rid of “Semangat Ketuanan” and follow the “Rukun Negara” principles to build up the country and bring progress to the nation.

“Ku Li’s proposal could bring tension among Malaysians.

“Bring up the issue of Malaysia as a single race will break up Malaysia further.

“Looking at the responses through social media especially Dayak Whatsapp Group, this proposal by Ku Li is inviting the element of anti Malaya more.

“Ku Li should come out with brilliant ideas on how to make Malaysia better and how to build up Malaysia into a peaceful nation as what Malaysia was before,” he said in a statement today.

Bobby believed that to enable Malaysia to progress, one has to respect one another and provide equal opportunity to all the people.

Citing a comment from former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who said the Malay leaders in Umno tend to forget easily (Melayu mudah lupa), he opined that Bangsa Malaysia is more acceptable.

“The big issue here is will the Malay be ready to accept the Chinese, Indian and Dayak as part of Malay?

“PBDS is a race-based political party and it accommodates Dayak politicians to speak up for the Dayak agenda.

“Dayak’s agenda is simple. To progress as other races do,” Bobby added. — DayakDaily
