KUCHING, Sept 20: Barisan Nasional (BN) has denied any links with Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (TERAS).
In a statement posted on social media last night (Sept 19), BN secretary-general Dr Zambry Abd Kadir expressed regret following a news report by a local Malay news portal dated Sept 17, 2024, associating BN with the Sarawak-based party.
“BN has strictly never allowed any party to use the name BN or the ‘dacing’ symbol without referring to the BN Supreme Council.
“BN also never discussed or knew about the steps made as stated in this report,” he said.
The report quoted TERAS chairman Affendi Jeman during a function in Bintulu on Sept 16 as saying that the party is transparent in fighting for the fate of the people, with BN being the basis of TERAS’ struggles. — DayakDaily
