MIRI, Aug 6: A unit on the third floor of a government living quarters of the Miri Police Headquarters was consumed by fire last night (Aug 5).
All seven residents, including teenagers, managed to escape to safety.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to the emergency at 7.10pm and switfly deployed a team of firefighters from Miri Central Station to the scene.
Firefighters used water sources from its fire truck and a nearby fire hydrant to extinguish the fire, which caused 80 per cent damage to the unit.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the loss are still being investigated. ā DayakDaily
