KUCHING, March 22: Bintulu is set to experience its second phase of development once the construction of the Bintulu-Jepak bridge is completed.
“We have developed this iconic bridge. We can see the pillars, and when it’s completed, it will become a landmark in Bintulu,” said Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during his speech at the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) appreciation dinner at Bintulu tonight.
He added that the bridge will enhance Bintulu’s features as Jepak and Bintulu will be connected by the development where today, a new Bintulu administrative centre is being built, and the Resident’s Office will be relocated to the area that is being developed.
“After that, we will develop modern villages and business centres in the area.
“This shows our attentiveness from BDA’s establishment to today — we bring change to Bintulu,” he said.
He added that all this is happening in Bintulu because of Sarawak’s stability thanks to its past and current leaders.
Abang Johari also thanked the people of Bintulu, BDA, and the State’s stakeholders for their contribution and cooperation in Bintulu’s development.
“We hope this cooperation will continue so that Bintulu will be more developed and prosperous,” he said. — DayakDaily
