KUCHING, Oct 1: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is warning the public to beware of a phishing scam website being shared across social media which invites members to respond to a survey purportedly to check on their entitlement to a RM10,000 incentive.
In a statement issued recently, the EPF emphasised that this was a fake website, set up with the intent of phishing for members’ personal data.
“We urge our members not to respond to such surveys in order to prevent their personal data from being shared with unverified third parties,” the statement warned.
Reiterating the warning in a post on its official Facebook page, EPF advised all its members to ignore the false information regarding incentives being shared by irresponsible parties and to not respond to the survey.
Anyone who receives any suspicious information or require clarification on the EPF’s services have been urged to refer to its official website at www.kwsp.gov.my.
Members of the public may also report doubtful social media messages by calling EPF at 03-89226000.
