KUCHING, April 18: The elevation of Pantu and Lingga to full districts will positively impact the delivery of government services in Sarawak.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion said it will also ease the workload of the Sri Aman District Office.
“Residents in Pantu and Lingga can now easily conduct their administrative matters such as inheritance, administration of community leaders, and welfare application matters,” he said during a ceremony to hand over duties to the Pantu and Lingga district officers at a local hotel in Sri Aman on today.
Apart from strengthening administrative management, Jaul said upgrading Lingga and Pantu to full districts will also contribute to the government implementing agencies’ planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects.
He also pointed out that the administrative and development planning between the Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA), Resident and District Offices, and elected representatives with government agencies can be coordinated more effectively.
“In addition, it would accelerate rural socio-economic development holistically and comprehensively.
“It will also enable various services such as banking and health to be provided for the convenience of the people,” he said. — DayakDaily
