Sarawak registers five Covid-19 deaths, including three BID from Betong

KUCHING, April 10: Betong has accounted for three of five Covid-19 deaths reported today.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the three deaths involving victims aged 62 to 78 were all brought-in-dead (BID) cases.


The other two deaths were from Sri Aman and Sibu, involving two males, one aged 61 and another 71.

Meanwhile, Sarawak reported 224 new Covid-19 cases, with seven in the serious categories.

Breaking down the clinical categories, there were 102 in Category 1, 115 in Category 2, two each in Categories 3 and 4, and three in Category 5.

In terms of districts, Kuching registered the most with 67 cases, followed by Bintulu (35), Sibu (30), and Miri (29).

Other districts with new infections were Limbang (9), Samarahan (8), Sri Aman, Bau, Simunjan (5 each), Sarikei (4), Serian, Lundu, Marudi, Kapit (3 each), Asajaya, Kabong, Kanowit, Dalat (2 each), Mukah, Pusa, Saratok, Tebedu, Subis, Beluru, and Meradong (1 each).

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases now stands at 302,457.

There were no new Covid-19 clusters reported today, leaving only four still active in the whole of Sarawak. — DayakDaily
