KUCHING, Aug 29: The construction of the new SK Tegulang in Belaga has recorded 45.60 per cent physical progress and is on track for full completion by August 2026.
The update of the K9 standard school follows Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak director Ir Dr Cassidy Morris’ visit to the project site on Thursday (Aug 28).
The project comprises the construction of six classrooms to accommodate up to 100 students, hostels for both boys and girls, six units of teachers’ quarters, and various support facilities.
These include an administration and academic block, dining hall, barracks, pump house, guard post, and waste depot.
In a post shared on its official social media, JKR Sarawak stated that the school is expected to provide a conducive and comfortable learning environment once completed, catering to the needs of students in the remote area.
Cassidy’s visit underscores JKR Sarawak’s commitment to ensuring the smooth delivery of rural education infrastructure, which is vital in bridging the urban-rural education gap. — DayakDaily
