KUCHING, Jan 23: Twenty nine Bersatu Youth (Armada) leaders have warned DAP Youth leaders against openly criticising its chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, in honour of the power-sharing agreement of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.
In a joint-statement, the 29 Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Armada leaders reminded DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) that although Malaysia exercises democracy and the freedom of speech, it should not be used to run down the unity that has been formed in the Pakatan coalition.
“If Dapsy is not good enough to discipline its members to maintain this harmony, we in Armada will not be able to guarantee any counter attacks to be carried out by our grassroots.
“Yb Syed Saddiq’s views in his earlier statement should be respected as the PH chief and all component parties should take the call seriously to focus their efforts on rebuilding this country,” the statement said.
Syed Saddiq, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, has been criticised by eight Dapsy leaders for his fierce criticism of those who have kept on urging Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to step down and give way to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, as part of a deal by PH before GE14.
Bersatu Armada’s statement was endorsed its deputy chief Mohd Aizag Roslan, information chief Ulya Aqamah Husamudin, treasurer Rafiq Hakim Razali and supported by 14 exco members and 12 state Armada chiefs. — DayakDaily
