KUCHING, May 16: Bau today has become the latest district to turn into the green zone from yellow zone.
State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said the latest status of Bau has brought the number of districts in green zone in Sarawak to 34.
The other green zones are Limbang, Bintulu, Miri, Simunjan, Asajaya, Sri Aman, Betong, Lawas, Mukah, Matu, Sarikei, Saratok, Pusa, Kabong, Lubok Antu, Meradong, Julau, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Tatau, Sebauh, Dalat, Daro, Tanjung Manis, Kapit, Belaga, Song, Bukit Mabong, Marudi, Beluru and Telang Usan.
The committee noted that there are six districts which are classified as yellow zone.
Those include Kuching, Samarahan, Tebedu, Lundu, Sibu and Serian.
Meanwhile, SDMC said there was no new positive cases of Covid-19 in Sarawak reported today.
It is the third consecutive days that there is no positive Covid-19 case reported in Sarawak.
SDMC noted the number of cumulative positive case stood at 544 cases.
SDMC added there were also 24 new cases of person under investigation (PUI) and another 24 cases awaiting laboratory results.
As for the number of recoveries, SDMC said there were 23 cases.
Out of the 23 cases, 19 cases were from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), three cases from Bintulu Hospital and one from Sibu Hospital.
SDMC revealed that there were also 407 Sarawakians returnees in the past 24 hours and placed at respective hotels as person under surveillance (PUS). – DayakDaily
