Bau reverts to yellow zone, sees only 14 Covid-19 cases in past forthnight

KUCHING, March 21: Bau reverts to the yellow zone status from orange zone after only 14 cases of Covid-19 infection were reported in the district in the past 14 days.

“This brings the total number of districts with the yellow zone status to 17 districts, while 12 other districts remaining as red zones, and two districts in the orange zone,” State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, SDMC said following a further investigation on an infection case reported in Marudi yesterday, it was confirmed that the case was reported in Beluru district, after getting infected in Miri.

“As such, Marudi district still remain as the green zone status, bringing the total number of districts with the green zone status to nine districts,” the statement added.

As of today, a total of 12 districts namely Sri Aman, Song, Serian, Subis, Julau, Betong, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu maintain their red zone status while Samarahan and Sarikei also stay in the orange zone status.

Mukah, Selangau, Dalat, Limbang, Telang Usan, Tanjung Manis, Kanowit, Belaga, Lundu, Bukit Mabong, Tatau, Pusa, Asajaya, Beluru, Saratok, Sebauh and Bau are in the yellow zone status.

Nine other districts namely Marudi, Pakan, Matu, Lawas, Daro, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, Tebedu, and Kabong remained as green zones of Covid-19. — DayakDaily
