KUCHING, May 18: Two men were severely injured while another two sustained minor injuries in a midnight collision at Jalan Serikin in Kampung Bogeg, Bau, today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 12.15am, and firefighters from the Bau station were deployed.
Upon arrival, it was noted that the accident involved a Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Hilux.
“Two victims who were passengers in the Myvi were removed from the vehicle by passersby, while another was in the driver’s seat. The driver of the Hilux managed to come out of the vehicle by himself,” said the report.
The operations commander conducted a size-up and instructed firefighters to extricate the driver of the Myvi, and the victims were later sent to the hospital for further action.
Firefighters then carried out flushing works to clear the road of any debris, and after ensuring the situation was safe and secure, firefighters returned to the station. — DayakDaily
