Batu Kitang rep taken for a ride by so-called PH members — DAP leader

Abdul Aziz Isa

KUCHING, Jan 3: DAP Batu Kitang pro-tem branch chairman Abdul Aziz Isa has laughed at Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang for accepting some 70 so-called ‘quitters’ of DAP and PKR from Kampung Haji Baki into SUPP without checking their backgrounds.

“This just shows that Lo is too desperate to recruit any ‘Tom, Dick and Harry’ into SUPP. It seems that Lo and SUPP only care about quantity, not quality,” Abdul Aziz said in a statement today.

He was commenting on news published in a national daily that ‘About 72 members of DAP and PKR from Kampung Haji Baki quit parties to join SUPP’.

One Yuseri Suhaili even said he decided to leave DAP because the party’s local leaders failed to fulfil the promises they made to help the villagers. They handed in their application forms to Lo last night.

“By accepting Yuseri and the so-called ’72 quitters’ into SUPP, the voters can judge for themselves the quality of SUPP leaders and their members,” Abdul Aziz said.

Abdul Aziz, who is in charge of membership application for DAP Batu Kitang pro-tem branch and had personally submitted the application forms, clarified that there were only nine applicants from Kampung Haji Baki wanting to join the DAP, so far.

“As far as I know, Yuseri left DAP six years ago. He was a member of DAP Batu Kawah Branch from 2010 to 2012. After his membership term expired in 2012, he never renewed it,” he said.

Since the DAP membership record showed that he was no longer a DAP member for the past six years, Abdul Aziz stressed that Yuseri could not claim to be a DAP member.

“However, recently, Yuseri and another eight people applied to rejoin DAP under the new DAP Batu Kitang pro-tem branch. Their membership applications have not been approved yet because we still need to vet their backgrounds.

“Therefore, they have no right to claim that they are DAP members. With Yuseri and others joining SUPP now, their membership applications will automatically be dropped,” he said.

Abdul Aziz was also surprised to learn that only 72 so-called DAP and PKR members quit their respective parties to join SUPP because he had been receiving a lot of messages saying that Yuseri would bring in 200 DAP members to join SUPP.

“I wonder where are the other 128 so-called ‘DAP members. I believe they have to include PKR just to cover Lo’s face and just to put salt and spices in their story,” he said.

Abdul Aziz claimed the whole thing was a drama created by Lo to divert people’s attention from the grass-cutting issue that brought him and DAP Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen into an intense exchange of words. — DayakDaily
