KUCHING, Oct 22: SMK Green Road has emerged as the champion in Sunway College Kuching’s Mathematics Quiz 2022, defeating eight teams in the grand finals today.
Meanwhile, SMK Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Gapor and Lodge Secondary School were the first and second runner-ups, respectively.
The brilliant teams of three Form 5 students each took home their prizes following rounds of Mathematics tests and battles with 21 other teams that were qualified and present during the semi-finals.
Besides cash prizes and trophies, the top three winning teams were awarded scholarships for foundation and diploma studies at Sunway College Kuching.
There were six consolation teams from SMK Sg Tapang, SMK Sg Maong, SMK Pending, SMK Kuching High, SMK Batu Kawa, and SMK Jalan Arang.
Both the semi-finals and grand finals were held at the Tegas Digital Village here today, judged by Dr Lai Jia Juin, Pan Chui Ing, and Dr Leong Siow Hoo.
The quiz that began in September with the qualifying rounds was co-organised with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Malaysia, Tegas Digital Village, and Eduquest Education Services.
