KUCHING, Nov 2: Batik Air will operate flights between Kuala Lumpur and Bintulu 10 times weekly starting this month, enhancing connectivity between Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak.
According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Sarawak Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin stated that this increased frequency is expected to boost tourism and business sectors between the two regions.
He highlighted the significance of Batik Air’s planned route expansion to Sarawak’s main airports in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri, which is set to launch in January 2025.
Speaking at the inaugural Kuala Lumpur-Bintulu flight event, Lee also suggested that Batik Air consider expanding routes to international destinations, including Indonesia, China, Japan, and South Korea. — DayakDaily
