KUCHING, Nov 26: A total of 148 recipients were conferred Sarawak awards and honours today in an investiture ceremony officiated by Head of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, at the Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri Sarawak, Petra Jaya.
Among the prominent recipients was Batang Sadong Member of Parliament (MP) Rodiyah Sapiee, who was conferred with the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S.).
She was followed by fellow MPs Mohamad Shafizan Kepli (Batang Lupar), Roy Angau Gingkoi (Lubok Antu), as well as Sarawak assemblymen Allan Siden Gramong (Machan), Awla Dris (Simunjan), Billy Sujang (Opar), Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor (Lingga), Lidam Assan (Katibas), and Wilfred Yap Yau Sin (Kota Sentosa).
Also recognised were Prof Dr Asri Said, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), and Mohammad Fahmi Mustafa, senior private secretary at the Office of the Yang di-Pertua Dewan Negara.
The Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K) was conferred upon Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana, who led that category.
The ceremony also saw 26 recipients honoured with the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.K), with Dr Nasriman Abdul Rahman, director of the Integrity Division at Unimas, leading the list.
Additionally, 16 recipients were awarded the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S), while eight received the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K).
In further recognition, 41 individuals received the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T), and 38 were awarded the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S).
Also present at the ceremony were Wan Junaidi’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Deputy Minister of Utility Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister of Transport Dato Henry Harry Jinep, Deputy Minister at the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Administration) Datu Buckland Bangik, along with other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
