KUCHING, Feb 26: The construction of Batang Lupar 2 Bridge in Sri Aman has reached 42.65 per cent completion and is expected to be ready next year.
According to the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) in a recent Facebook post, the bridge’s physical progress is, in fact, ahead of schedule.
Sarawak JKR director Datu Richard Tajan led a delegation to inspect the ongoing construction works at the site last Saturday (Feb 24).
“The visit was aimed to inspect the latest developments on the construction of 870-metre-long cable bridge including the 2.2km access road,” it wrote.
With a height of 145.5m, the Batang Lupar 2 Bridge is expected to become Malaysia’s tallest cable stay bridge.
Also present during the visit were Sri Aman Resident Abang Mohamad Porkan Abang Budiman and JKR Sarawak senior officers. — DayakDaily
