KUCHING, May 22: The 2023 Baram Regatta scheduled from Aug 24 to 27 has been postponed to a later date.
Marudi District Officer Belayong Pok said, in a press conference held at the Marudi District Office today, the delay is inevitable due to some unavoidable issues.
He, however, was optimistic that the annual regatta event could still be carried out this year, Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported.
Belayong, who is also the 2023 Baram Regatta organising chairman, expressed hopes that the event though delayed would be ever livelier at the beautiful Marudi Waterfront.
Also present at the press conference were Marudi District Office administrative officers Fazzwan Yunus and Vanessa Joseph and the Marudi Iban community head Penghulu Hilary Tawan. — DayakDaily
