KUCHING, Nov 25: Sarawak will endeavour to establish a Trade and Tourism Office in Pontianak, Indonesia next year.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who is also Minister for International Trade and Investment (Mintred) said comprehensive discussions will be held through meetings with the Sarawak Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce, trade organisations, and companies in Sarawak.
Awang Tengah disclosed this to reporters when met after receiving a courtesy visit from Ikatan Saudagar Muslim Se-Indonesia (ISMI) at his office in the Sarawak State Assembly Building, today.
He added Sarawak and Indonesia governments are committed to continue maintaining close cooperation to boost the economic activities of both parties.
Meanwhile, Awang Tengah said they also discussed about the possibility of working together in terms of increasing the involvement of both sides in economic activities during the courtesy call.
He added, the cooperation is not only for large enterprises, in addition, it will benefit small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from both sides covering various sectors. — DayakDaily
