Awang Suhaili Ledi reappointed Syariah Chief Judge in ceremony graced by Sarawak Governor

KUCHING, June 7: Datu Awang Suhaili Ledi has been reappointed as Syariah Chief Judge and Syariah Court of Appeal chairman in a ceremony graced by Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Astana Sarawak.

According to a news report by TVS, a total of 23 judges received their appointments during the Syariah Judge appointment ceremony for the Sarawak Syariah Justice Department (JKSS) yesterday (June 6).

Five individuals were appointed as Syariah Court judge panel members, namely Dato Mohd Amran Mat Zain, Adto Mohd Shukor Sabudin, Datuk Mohd Radzi Abd Latif, Dato’ Mohamad Shakir Abdul Hamid, and Dr Sarip Adul.

Two were appointed as Syariah High Court judges, namely Tuan Rosidi Masli and Najarudin Nedri.

The judges for the Syariah Lower Court are Awang Indra Awang Mostapha, Ilham Mustapa, Wahabi Isenan, Idris Abdul Kadir, Imran Taha, Suhardi Bujang, Noor Rafidah Ali, Norsilawati Jamari, and Mirwan Yunus.

Sarawak Governor’s wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi; Sarawak Islamic Council president, Datuk Misnu Taha; and Sarawak Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) chief executive officer, Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai, were present. — DayakDaily
