Auxiliary police personnel threatened with shotgun

MIRI, July 17: Four auxiliary police personnel of an estate in Ladang 3, Bekenu, here were threatened by an individual with a shotgun while conducting their daily patrol on Monday.

The alleged incident reportedly happened around 9.30am.

Just before the incident, the four auxiliary police personnel entered the estate to conduct their routine patrol. When they made a pit stop, they suddenly heard the sound of gunshots fired.

Minutes later, an individual known to them emerged from nearby bushes with a shotgun in hand, aimed at one of the auxiliary police personnel.

The individual ordered them to leave the estate immediately. Fearing for their safety, the auxiliary police personnel complied with the individual’s demand and left the scene with no untoward incidents taking place.

A police report was lodged that same day, in the afternoon at Miri Central police station (CPS).

No arrest has been so far as the police is still investigating the incident. ā€” DayakDaily
