KUCHING, July 12: Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) gifted a 300kg cow to the Muslim community in Kampung Senah Rayang during Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration recently.
According to Aspirasi in a statement on July 10, the gift was presented by the party members during their visit to the village to celebrate the holiday recently.
“During the visit, ‘Ketua Kampung’ for Kampung Senah Rayang Johari Mohd Jepredin informed that the village also sacrificed five cows for the auspicious occasion where all the residents irrespective of religion participated in the ritual since the wee hours of the morning,” it said.
Johari expressed his appreciation of the gift from the group, while the party representative George Young also a expressed his appreciation of the spirit of integration between the different religions.
Kampung Senah Rayang is a Bidayuh majority village comprising 139 households where 121 of the families are Muslims, 13 are Christian households and five families practice the Buddhist faith, as all of them celebrate the different religious holidays together. — DayakDaily
