KUCHING, April 17: The Asia Carbon Conference 2022 held here from March 15 to 16 was the most expensive conference Sarawak has ever hosted, says Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
He said registration fee for the two-day conference was priced at USD2,000 per person and the conference attracted over 400 delegates from all around the world.
“Climate change, which is a worldwide issue, is also here in Sarawak. So, we need to figure out solutions, find out what to do to tackle climate change.
“In Sarawak’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, environmental sustainability is one of three pillars,” said Dr Sim in a video uploaded on his official Facebook page.
He urged fellow Sarawakians to look out for and participate in any initiatives by the government contributing to Sarawak’s green economy. — DayakDaily
