KUCHING, Nov 2: All Sarawak lawmakers have been instructed to take a Covid-19 test three days before the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) convenes on Nov 8, 2020.

This was revealed by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at the daily Covid-19 press conference here today.

Expressing uncertainty over the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the DUN sitting which is scheduled to be held from Nov 8-18, Uggah however pointed out that the full SOP will be announced by DUN secretary Pele Peter Tinggom tomorrow.

“I am not sure what is the full SOP like. The DUN secretary will announce the full SOP tomorrow.

“But we have been instructed to take a swab three days before the sitting. Every one of us,” Uggah told DayakDaily when met after the press conference.

Meanwhile, despite the spike in the number of Covid-19 cases after the Sabah election, Uggah expressed the belief that the upcoming DUN sitting will not be shortened.

“I don’t think it will be shortened,” said Uggah who is also the Deputy Chief Minister. — DayakDaily
