KUCHING, May 10: An individual claiming to represent Iban Singer Penghulu Andrewson Ngalai and ANP Records has granted permission for the remake of the song ‘Berkikis Bulu Betis’.
According to XIBO Entertainment, Andrewson stated that he was not informed about the remake of the video clip and did not issue permission.
“XIBO Entertainment would like to firstly apologise to ‘Bekikis Bulu Betis’ Andrewson Ngalalai for the miscommunication regarding the rights to remake the song ‘Berkikis Bulu Betis’ for our artiste KMJX,” it stated in an Instagram post yesterday.
The company mentioned that after further discussion, both parties (XIBO Entertainment) and Andrewson have come to an agreement on terms for the reproduction of the song.
“We hope that this statement will clear the air and any speculation that may have arisen from this matter.
XIBO has always been committed to developing ‘Dayak’ and Sarawakian music and will continue to do so with all our work,” it added. — DayakDaily
