MIRI, June 5: The “Simfoni Tuanku” video based on a song written by Sarawak composer and musician Sharnaz Saberi and especially dedicated to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong was among the highlights of the high tea held in conjunction with Sarawak’s celebration of His Majesty’s birthday.
The music video was commissioned by Unit Protocol, Istiadat dan Pengurusan Acara Sarawak and produced by MS Studio.
The performance which was directed by Marvin Jong, conducted by Ahmad Andika, arranged by Ahmad Andika and Armand Malik, and sung by Datin Seri Dayang Camelia Khan Abang Khalid and Bob Yusof with the accompaniment of an orchestra was brought to life through the talent of the team.
Prior to the presentation of the video, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, cut a ‘pulut kuning’ cake to symbolically launch the celebration.
Also present were Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Public Health, Housing and Local Government Deputy Minister Datu Dr Penguang Manggil who represented Sarawak Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, the organiser of the event, and Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.
Former Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri George Chan, Welfare, Childhood Community Wellbeing Development Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, Sarawak Secretary Dato Sri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, and Deputy Minister in Premier’s Department Datuk Gerawat Gala were also present.
The high tea which was held in a local hotel here was a joyous occasion of beautiful songs by Sarawakian artists and cultural dances brought by various ethnic groups, which later ended with a finale of upbeat dance performance “Daulat Tuanku”. — DayakDaily
