SEBAUH, Sept 11: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah showed off his ‘poco-poco’ moves during a stop at Rumah (Rh) Raymond Plen here today in conjunction with the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ royal tour.
Several videos of the King dancing with the longhouse folk have made their rounds online, showing another side of his openness and humility.
The King also impressed the local folk when he entertained them with a karaoke performance, singing several evergreen songs.
To top it off, a longhouse gathering would not be complete without the ‘Bekikis Bulu Betis’ song, where a viral video showed the King’s son, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, dancing with the residents at the same venue.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the Agong has expressed his love towards Sarawak, including the concept of a longhouse, which he intended to bring such concept to be applied in Pahang.
He also expressed his sadness before leaving the residents of Rh Raymond, who had greatly welcomed him to their home.
The King was accompanied by Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and their children, namely Hassanal, Tengku Ahmad Ismail Mu’adznam Shah and Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Tengku Arif Bendahara Ibrahim.
Prior to the stop, the royal entourage’s arrival was welcomed by acting Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar and wife Puan Sri Fatimah Mohd Iskandar.
The royal entourage was also accompanied by Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and his wife Datin Sri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar.
During the stop, the King had the opportunity to join a fishing activity at Sebauh River while the Queen cooked for the guests.
Amongst those present included Malaysian Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi; Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dato Seri Tiong King Sing; and Sarawak’s Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom. — DayakDaily
