KUCHING, Aug 1: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas of Sarawak in a notice valid until 3pm today.

Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Bintulu (Bintulu), and Miri (Subis, Miri, and Marudi).

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
