KUCHING, Aug 15: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of Sarawak this afternoon.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song), and Bintulu (Tatau). The warning, which was issued at 1pm today, will remain in effect until 4pm.

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
