KUCHING, Dec 19: Social activist Peter John Jaban urges Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government to live up to the trust placed in them by the people to deliver the autonomy and good governance that the people want following the latter’s landslide victory in the 12th Sarawak Election yesterday.

Peter John in a press statement today said such a decisive victory allows Abang Johari to implement more extensively the reforms begun by his predecessor, the late Pehin Sri Adenan Satem.

“These are long overdue and our new Chief Minister is now in a strong position to provide them.

“Abang Johari must now show decisively that he is the Chief Minister for all Sarawakians.

“It is time to set things right,” he said.

In the 12th Sarawak Election, GPS won 76 out of the 82 seats contested while Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) won four seats and Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) won two seats. — DayakDaily
