KUCHING, April 30: Sarawak will be promoting its tourism package to German and Holland beginning this May, said Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Abdul Karim said apart from that, his ministry is also actively promoting Sarawak to Singapore.

“Through this promotion, it is expected to bring more international tourists from other countries,” he said.

He said this when answering a question from one of the reporters about the expected 1.2 million visitors to Sarawak after the press conference held during AirAsia’s welcoming flight held at the VIP Terminal of Kuching International Airport, yesterday.

However, he added, although the promotion has started, visitors are not yet confident to travel immediately.

He said given the flexibility implemented, it gives tourists the confidence to travel all over the world.

Meanwhile, when asked whether Sarawak expected visitors from China since part of the country was still in lockdown, Abdul Karim said although certain parts of China are under lockdown, some Chinese citizens who are in Singapore and Indonesia might want to visit Sarawak for a holiday. — DayakDaily
