SIBU, Nov 14: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has called on P214 Selangau voters to give their support to Edwin Banta (GPS-Parti Rakyat Sarawak) this 15th General Election (GE15).

He was referring to Selangau incumbent Baru Bian who won the seat in the 2018 General Election under a Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) ticket.

Baru who has since left PKR and joined Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) is not seeking to defend Selangau in this general election but instead will be standing for election in P222 Lawas, a constituency where his hometown is situated.

“Selangau people, do not let history repeat itself. After becoming an MP, he ran away.

“Give your support to our ‘manok sabong’ (fighting rooster) Edwin Banta and together we can develop Sarawak as well as the whole of Malaysia,” he said during the opening ceremony for the Selangau section of the Pan Borneo Highway project at the Selangau flyover here today.
