Abang Johari breaks fast with PDRM personnel

KUCHING, April 11: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, spent some time this Ramadan to break fast with personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) yesterday (April 10).

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the programme commenced with the reading of the Al-Quran while waiting to break fast.

The Premier also presented cash assistance and food baskets to 10 orphans of PDRM personnel and carried out Isya and tarawih prayers.


In his speech, Sarawak Police Commissioner Dato Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri said although it is the month of Ramadan, the Sarawak police will continue to carry out their duties in protecting the peace and public safety.

“At the same time, we are committed to and will collaborate with the Sarawak government to maintain a good working relationship which will also strengthen service delivery to the people of Sarawak,” he said.

Also present were Satok assemblyman Dato Ibrahim Baki; former deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Mohd Jamil Johari; Police Family Association (Perkep) Sarawak chairperson, Datin Nassariah Mohd Nassir; Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust (LAKMNS) chief executive officer, Datuk Abang Wahap Abang Julai; and Sarawak deputy police commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata. — DayakDaily
