KUCHING, June 6: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has approved a RM353 million allocation to develop Kapit in conjunction with the State-level official birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertuan Agong in Kapit.
He said Kapit has developed rapidly after the completion of roads as the town centre is now full of traffic jams.
Thus, to thank the Kapit folk for supporting Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the last State election and to solve the traffic congestion in Kapit, he said the roads throughout the town will undergo upgrading under a project with a total allocation of RM190 million.
