KUCHING, June 6: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg today approved an allocation of RM2 million to upgrade Kapit Lily Pond.
He said the allocation was necessary to upgrade the pond as an attraction spot for tourists visiting Hulu Rajang.
“I believe within four years, the economic sector in Kapit division will increase. Not to mention, within three years, the construction of Bukit Mabong airport is expected to be completed.
“Once these developments are ready, they will open up the Hulu Rajang area up to Baleh, Baleh to Belaga, and Belaga to Bintulu. This is our long term plan,” he said after an official work visit to Kapit Lily Pond in Kapit today. — DayakDaily
