KUCHING, Feb 4: Covid-19 toll among Sarawak frontliners have reached at least 97 cases since Jan 25, 2021, with only three more to go before it reaches 100.
The tally went up again today as State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas reported eight medical officers across various health facilities in the state.
Four of the cases were from medical facilities in Julau district, two in Sibu and another two in Kapit.
Looking back at previous statistics, there were 89 cumulative cases among healthcare providers as of yesterday (Feb 3).
On Jan 25, Dr Chin revealed to DayakDaily that there were in total 53 medical officers across four major hospitals in Sarawak contaminated with the dreaded disease as of that day.
The following day on Jan 26, there were five additional cases of Covid-19 identified among the medical groups across the state.
Three days later on Jan 29, SDMC reported nine new infections.
The figures continued to increase daily from then on with one new case on Jan 30, three on Jan 31, six on Feb 1, four on Feb 2 and four more yesterday (Feb 3).—DayakDaily
