91 illegal plantation workers from Indonesia nabbed during `Ops Libas’

MIRI, Nov 9: Ninety-one illegal foreign workers of a plantation in Suai, Niah, were collared during `Ops Libas’ early this morning.

All arrested were Indonesians, and they did not have valid working permits.


The operation was mounted by 82 personnel from the Miri General Operations Force (GOF) Battalion 12 and 12 immigration personnel.

According to Miri GOF commanding officer Supt Tan Hiap Seng, the operation was launched at 1.30am.

Of those arrested, 85 are being detained under Section 6(1)(c)  of the Immigration Act 1959/63, while the remaining 6 under Section 15 (1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. — DayakDaily
